Instead of a set of golf clubs, I'm looking at a precision rifle for a retirement hobby. I'm a guest at a private range and hope to be a member soon. Depending on the day, I get to meet AI reps doping customers' rifles. Nice bunch of folks and very helpful. I have been building MSRs for the last 20 years and just finished my last two builds. I completed an M4E1-A5 in 5.56 and a M5E1 in .308. Both have 20" barrels and run well. Not AI precision, so I'm now looking for a production bolt gun. AI has extremely nice platforms but I would like to start small. MPA seems to build a consistent platform and they offer a military discount. I'm a southpaw and would like a LH bolt gun in 6.5 Creedmoor. I enjoy reloading handgun and rifle ammo when time permits. I would appreciate your thoughts on MPA.

Get a .22 and go start competing at the MARS matches at NVGC.

Also seeing as you like building, go buy a Bighorn Origin, prefit barrel, stock/chassis of choice and go shoot. You can build your own like an AR now.

MPA is offering me a tremendous military discount. The MPA 65BA-SL really caught my eye! I have a SilencerCo Hybrid 46 that I run on my rifles and handguns. Would it change accuracy if I ran it on a bolt rifle with the ASR mount?

Yes. Yes I would like to check out the Quantico shooting club!
Awesome! You should send an email to the address on this page: https://quanticoshootingclub.com/contact tell them you want to come and your current Mil status. You may have to fill out a "base firearms authorization" form and then you'll probably be all set to come. You can almost certainly come any Sat/Sun that there are ranges open (check out the Calendar, ask me if if the range notes seem confusing https://quanticoshootingclub.com/calendar . You most likely want to find a "Rec Fire" event for your first time) as a guest for $10 or if you just wanna join the MAX the cost could be is $150 a year.

Thank you for the invite. Will start on club paperwork. As soon as I get my new rifle finished and a scope mounted, I would like to visit. I did order the MPA 65BA-SL this week. Just need to find matching glass. I'm currently looking at the NightForce NX8, Vortex Razor Gen2 and Leupold Mk5HD. Any suggestions on glass?
