Griffin Enhanced Gas Pocket BCG

I did some more testing with different barrel lengths and gas tube lengths.

I'm posting this for transparency or for anyone potentially looking to purchase these carriers.

With my 6 ARC with a rifle length gas I am very comfortable shooting without ear pro. With that rifle I shot about 50 rounds with zero effects. For a rifle length gas or longer I think it's a no brainer.

With a 16" AR I would say it's borderline as far as being 'safe'. Yes you can shoot without ear pro but only a little bit. Hunting or something would be fine.

I don't want to put a round count on it but I will say probably under one magazine or less.

For a day at the range definitely take ear pro but for home defense or something it would be very nice to have.

On my 10.5 it does quiet it down some but not enough to be completely comfortable. That said, my 10.5 is the one I will grab for an emergency. I am thinking about picking up one more carrier for this rifle just based on that alone but I have not decided yet. Something is better than nothing maybe. I'm still debating on if it's worth it for my 10.5.

What's your gas system length on your 16in?

I bought the enhanced gas pocket carrier and put it in my 18" KAC LPR Mod 2 5.56 with the KAC E3 bolt, along with the SNACH Gen 2 charging handle. It has an OCL OCM5 suppressor.

I immediately noticed quieter port pop and a lot less gas to the face, and I mean ALOT less gas. The latter either due to the Gas Pocket carrier or the SNACH charging handle or most likely, both working together. I'm 100% happy with the outcome.

I'm currently putting together another 18" precision AR15 in 5.56 and I won't go into all of the parts list here, but I will say I am going with the GA Gas Pocket BCG in milspec this time, along with the SNACH Gen 2 again. I think the anti-tilt carrier design benefits accuracy some and I'm going for ultra rigid and precision on this build, so I'm really trying to make every specific part of the build have a net benefit towards that goal.

I bought the GA full BCG Kit and also just a carrier during their sale. The complete kit went in a rifle that has a 16" Criterion Hybrid with RLG. That rifle using a full size Polonium is a lot of fun to shoot as it seems like the thing runs in slow motion recoil wise. When I dropped in the new kit and changed the Polonium to a Radical Defense LS-5TI, it was a huge difference.

I went too the trouble of bringing both set ups (BCGs, springs and buffers, and suppressors) to the range so I could compare apples to apples. Just the GA kit made a noticeable difference noise wise, and gas was also less. The Polonium is a gassy suppressor but works well for me when I tuned the rifle. The Radical Defense LS-5TI needed the gas to be turned back up to bleed off (SA agb) and the rifle was very quiet for a 16". The difference between suppressors was noticeable too, but that is another story.

Yeah, this rifle isn't your normal 16" AR, but it is fun to shoot and IMHO the GA BCG does actually work even with a coal rolling Polonium....
