I've handled them (obviously). I have experience with mounts from many different companies in the $125-$500ish range. The mounts are nice mounts if you're in the market for something with the features they have. They are very durable, very repeatable, and very high quality. They are overbuilt.

I've seen half inch carbide end mills break in 30 horse power spindles cutting them without causing a failure of the mounting system. They are final machined on picatinny fixtures bolted to the system they use to mount on the rail.

There are a few people who, with no knowledge of the product, are hell bent on negativity, but the zero knowledge they have of the product kind of says what you need to know. They are probably also related the people who chop their Ar15's in half in social media posted videos "so they won't kill anyone".

The procedure we have used is tighten the lower screws prior to putting the optic on the rifle, loosen 3/4 turn from tight, then install on the rifle, level, tighten the upper screws, remove 20in lb torque lower and recheck torque upper, and re-install. It's not very difficult. It's a cleaner procedure than split rings that clamp on a base rail, which require assembling all the pieces around the optic.

On the rifle obviously that's where L-shaped keys can also be used if you want to use a different method.
