My ccw gun is a sig 220 carry, and I would like to get some different grips for it, was wondering what you guys would suggest. I like the aestetics of wood grips, but for a carry gun am not sure about it, one thing I want to shy away from is the hogues with the finger grooves. Any ideas where to look, or suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks
Ubet

Re: grips for sig 220?

I am not a finger groove guy so I use Hogue grip and grip tape on the front of the grip. Works great and pretty cheap. I used a set of Roco wood on my 220 carry but was always afraid of nicking up 110.00 grips.

Re: grips for sig 220?

I keep thinking about upgrading my factory grips on my P226 but then ask myself am I going to get $100 worth of improvment from them.. then I think what else I could put that towards.. lots of reloading supplies.

Re: grips for sig 220?

I picked up a 229 the other day with 8 sights, and was able to acquire the sight picture a lot faster than I thought I would of. But with buying sights I would venture to guess you would have to buy the tool to adjust the sights? If I remember right from sig its +$200

Re: grips for sig 220?

Over the years I've tried different grips on pistols and have come back to the factory grips. I do have a 220 with Equinox grips on it (not an Equinox 220). For work I carry a 220 and/or a 245 both have the original grips.

Works for me.

Ditto,

I just joined the ranks of the Sig owners and added the Hogue finger groove grips (I am lucky that they fit my hands, I am an SF guy so I have a little di.... I mean a big knife)

Anyway, I put the Hogues on my P220 and my P226 and get great service from them. I also tried the fancy schmancy rosewood grips, they lasted about a week. (I took them off as they were too slick, they didnt break or anything like that)

My $02.

Re: grips for sig 220?

The Hogue flat panel grips are an inexpensive alternative to the finger grooves for smaller hands but as somebody else mentioned G-10's are the ticket. Nills are gorgeous but for a carry gun, I'd be afraid of damaging them.
