So I was browsing on grizzly.com and looking at the barrels they have in stock, I placed an order for a krieger a little over a month ago and am thinking of jst getting one of the bartleins that they have in stock for my Ftr rig, the barrel I was looking at is the T10560 Bartlein Barrels .308 5R x 30" Finished, .300 x .308 Bore/Groove x 1-10 Twist - 1.250x 5.00 taper to .900 Barrel. the rest of the barrels that are listed on the website have names... light palma, medium palma etc, but this one does not. looking through bartleins website, it would appear that this could either be a heavy Palma or a longer heavy varment. anybody know the answer to this? also, I ordered a Krieger heavy palma, would this be a similar barrel?

Appears to be a Heavy Varmint or something close to it. Could be a custom contour that Grizzly likes.

Palma contours are pretty standard among the barrelmakers. Might be slight differences but on the whole they're pretty close. Same thing for Remington Varmint, MTU, M24/M40 contours.

Big Blue - thanks for the compliment.

This barrel was brought on because of a recommendation by Frank at Bartlein barrels. Quite often I will call him up and ask him what is selling well and he will give me a run down of the various calibers and lengths etc. We will then add them to our buffet. This particular one was being bought by many F-T/R shooters wishing to shoot the heavier bullets. Great for 200, 210, 215 and 230 gr bullets. Most accurate with the 200, but the ballistics on the 215 Hybrids are way superior and accuracy very good. The 230s are a little finicky and require more load development. I use a heavier version of the 10 twist in my .300 WSM and have tested all the bullets above at 800 and 1000 yards.

Thanks for the info,
Looking at my weight, I should be able to pull off this barrel, I going to set aside a little more cash and will be making my order soon. Just out of curiosity, How to you think this barrel will fair with bergers juggernauts?
