They are nice scopes. The reticle really rocks.
The scope is intended to use with the reticle only for distance shooting. The knobs are really intended to be only used for sighting in.

I know Ed Verdugo (the guy who invented this reticle) fairly well and I have tested several of his prototype scopes over the years.

He now has the 1-6x24 scopes (these are made in Japan, while the 1-4x24 is made in Korea) coming and I expect to do an article on it fairly soon.

I'm running one of the 1-4's right now. I was a little worried at first, but definitely loving it. Could do without the quick focus, but the reticle is outstanding. And ILya is dead on about the turrets. In fact, the scope has an erector lock that you engage after sighting in. Glass is...alright. For the money, it's a decent piece of kit.

Re: GRSC CRS 1-4x and 1-6x ?

I've had one on top of my POF for about 6 months now and am completely satisfied with it. As mentioned the reticle is great, FFP, glass OK and surprisingly durable. I had a mishap with mine where it ended up taking about a 6' drop straight onto concrete while it was off my rifle. it ended up bent on the front edge of the tube but zero and functionality remained solid. Ed is a great guy, give him a call and tell him what your intended use is, if there is something better out there for your application he'll be the first to tell you. I intend on picking up one of the 1-6X in the near future. I'd suggest getting the Bobro mount for it from him too, super easy on and off and mine holds zero every time. If it applies to you, he offers a military / LE discount that makes it hard not to purchase.

That is not totally accurate. The adjustments on the 1-6x are in mils. However, the GRSC reticle utilizes stadiametric range finding not a mil or moa system. The reticle cannot properly be considered mil or moa based for that reason. Furthermore, drop compensation is also a feature in the reticle. Though the reticle does feature some mil dots off to the sides the primary ranging method is not that of mil calculations. If you are unfamiliar with the idea of stadiametric ranging a description of ranging with a GRSC can be found in the linked AR15 article in the post before yours.

Should you desire to make drop compensation using the turrets rather than the drop compensating reticle for reason of using a caliber or load significantly different than the reticle is calibrated for the turrets are in mils and will perform admirably. They tracked true in my testing.
