Gun Wall

Got a wild hair last night and went to Lowes this morning. Got $160 in it so far and need to spend about $100 more on lumber for shelves. I'm gonna do two 32 inch tall and wide shelves on either side of a 32 inch wide standing gun rack. I'll post the finished pictures in a few days.

My apologies. Between work call outs, sick kids, and me being sick the lumber has been just sitting downstairs. If everything goes according to plan I will get it finished up tomorrow and post some pics.

Hella Badass, kinda reminds me of the armory the brothers visit in Boondock Saints #1. Just get some black rope for rapelling and your all set.

Looks amazing! The only thing I might add if it was mine was a second board below the rifle rack to hold their butts up off the ground and possibly with notches to secure the butts in place. I wish I had space to do something like this!

Why do you need fooking rope??? Hahaha damn good movie. I have a rappel harness but they say since everyone uses the ropes I am not to be trusted with them alone. I don't know what they mean by that but I don't think its good on my part hahaha.
I am going to put a bottom plate down. I was 1 board foot shy of having enough. I'll buy me a 4 footer next time I'm out at the Lowes.

I rushed to build the shelves. I plan on emptying them and staining them later. I have never burnt then stained wood so I may give that a try. Any tips?
I'm holding my guns with nails. I bought hooks but found a nail sunk into a stud holds better. Im going to hang some pistols and other stuff up in the near future as well. Its still a work in progress.

The burning than staining makes the wood look more aged. A very cool look IMO especially with that metal back drop. You take a wire brush chucked in a drill to rough up the wood to make it look "Distressed". Than go after it with a propane torch to char the wood a bit. Than hit it with like a dark oak type stain. The more reddish stains dont turn out as well IMO.

I am supposed to have Friday off and the weather doesn't look good so that sounds like a great time to do some wood work. Thanks for tip, again. After looking at some pictures I really like the ideal. I'm going to try my hand a burning in our team logo or something to that affect.

I am going to do the same type of gun room with them on the walls and I am defiantly going to hang rope on the wall as a joke. I already have the Boondock Saints lamp with the 2 suppressed 92FS's for the room.

Hahaha. I even threw my air soft rig on the far right! We use them to do entry training. Nothing says you F'd like getting a burst of full auto BB's in the back at close range. We usually end up bleeding before the day is over!
