So i have been thinking lately it would be nice to date a gun nut girl... some one as nutty as my self ( if thats possible ) some one that wouldnt mind reloading and maybe doing like 3 gun or something of that nature.

my question to you guys is:

1. do your wives or gf's shoot with you and get into it as much as you ?

2. what do they shoot ?

it would be nice if i could build a ump9 clone or mp5 or maybe even an sbr ar for some one backed with like a usp9sd and maybe a 700ltr in 223. that would be pretty cool

but i would like to know what your ladies prefer when they hit the range... just wanna chit chat and though id ask you all

Absolutely and freakin' everything. She has an EMP, Glock 19, and she now wants a pink AR. Her CCW class is next month and she wants to take the Suarez Urban Rifle class next year. Outshot me Saturday @ 200 yards with my 700 in .308. Be careful what you wish for. This shit's more expensive than buying her jewelry.

Re: guns for wife/gf ?!?!

My wife shoots because I forced her into it. I bought her a Taurus Millennium Pro PT111 because it was the only thing small enough to fit her hands comfortably and she loves it. Trying to get her into my Savage MKII TR hoping it will eventually lead to her wanting her own long range stick.

Re: guns for wife/gf ?!?!

My wife shoots pistol, rifle and most recently shotgun.

She has shot tactical matches with me with her 308.

She recently has taken up sporting clays, bought herself a Bennelli 20 ga nad is looking for a Beretta 12. She is taking lessons and is determined to get good at this. More power to her!

Re: guns for wife/gf ?!?!

Mine shoots tactical rifle matches with me. She has a Rem 700 in 243 and in 223 with US Optics SN3. She also has a Sig 556 and a Kimber 1911 in 9mm. Her most recent blaster is a Rem 870 20ga. done by Vang comp. It does get spendy but she's worth it.

+11ty11! shit gets more expensive than jewelry but it is worth it. My girl is a natural, scary accurate, shooter with her pistols (357 S&W Model 60 and Walther p22) and pretty darn good with long guns. Though additional expense happens it is on shootin' stuff so I'm not complaining too much. Bigger bangs for your bucks...so to speak.

Re: guns for wife/gf ?!?!

Since your GF/wife is your right hand you are in luck and only need to buy guns for you to shoot. Bad thing is you are such a tool bag that you need to pour a beer on your hand and get it drunk before you can take advantage of it.

Re: guns for wife/gf ?!?!

hahahaha well that all sounds pretty dang good, sounds like a lot of guns i wouldnt even imagine a girl touching off, I always though they would prefer small things like sub guns in at most 223 but when you all say 308's and 12 ga that ( for a girl ) is pretty intense, it gives me new hope lol

Re: guns for wife/gf ?!?!

I bought my wife a nice little .38 Ladysmith for a wedding gift. She's Russian and had never shot before. It took quite a while for her to start getting the shooting bug (damn near eight years).

Not only is she very much into it now, she has appropriated my Smith 610 and Savage .223. She also bugs me asking when the next time we're going shooting.

She's starting to hint she'd like a large bore revolver for herself....45, 10mm, maybe .44 spl.

hahahah i try to ask a post just to get an idea of what my future builds might be and ammo might be and this is what it turns into when iam away ....

your freakin killing me

Re: guns for wife/gf ?!?!

I bought my wife a 38 revolver for her first pistol. I wanted her to have something simple and reliable. When I first met her, she was almost in tears because she was so scared of guns. About three weeks ago she shot two javelinas, one at 180 yrds, the other at 300 yrds, with a Remy 700 LTR in .308. Her stepdad says " I never could even get her to touch a gun." I didn't force her into it, just wasn't a dick. She realized on her own thats a good skill to have. Start her off simple and slow so shes not intimidated.

Re: guns for wife/gf ?!?!

Try taking your wife "plinking" with a 22 rifle and 22 pistol. Use standard velocity rounds if your guns will function with it. It doesn't have quiet as bad a bite as the hotter stuff. Be sure to take ear and eye protection for you both. Start her at about 20 feet so she gets good feedback. When she can hit that every time move it back to 40 feet and do the same thing.

Check your local gun range about beginers classes. I'm taking my 11 year old grandson (who has out shot me...) to begining small bore rifle classes starting next month. It's like 7 or 8 Tuesday nights for 3 hours each. Most of the first 2 nights is book and class room work. The rest is on the indoor 50 foot range.

This is about the same thing I did with our two daughters. Before long they'll want to blow up 2 liter coke bottles filled with water and capped tight, when hit with a 12 guage at 40 to 50 feet they kind of explode. The kids always got a kick out of that.

Good luck.
