has anyone tried to change both springs on an x mark pro trigger? i know a timney will always be better and i have one in the works but just to play with i heard the to spring was very simple to change and dropped the trigger pressure down a pound or so but has anyone change the bottom spring to a lightweight spring also? and if so what where to results? im trying to stay away from the sear adjustments as much as possible but i figured it should drop pretty low with both springs swapped to lightweight springs. im not to cheap to buy another trigger im just curious and already ordered a few springs so its just something for me to toy with

Re: gunsmith advise

just be careful. the proper way is to correct sear angles to neutral then set the springs that are there. The X marks I tune are a very crisp 2lb and up depending on the end user.

Re: gunsmith advise

ok ill just try a jard 14 ounce kit what do you guys think about that? do you think they are worth it or should i let the gunsmith do it? i was thinking of trying it myself and if i got it right then i would take it and pay him to make sure it is safe (sear engagement and such) i dont want an unsafe gun

Re: gunsmith advise

That really depends on how light you want your trigger. If it's a field gun, 14oz is too light, IMO. Sear angle adjustment is the proper method.
