Suppressors Gut hook knife

My schrade finally broke after 15 years, and I need another skinning knife. Anybody have some suggestions as to a good one that sharpens easy and holds a decent edge.

I have a Benchmade "Bone Collector" fixed blade made of D2 steel. I used it this year on three deer and it did great. I am flirting with selling it because I don't really like the gut hook part. PM me if you wanna talk.

For the gut hook part, I use a hooked carpet knife...the type that fits in the retractable handle. Cheap, extremely sharp, flip them around and instantly sharp again. Carry three or four extras in the handle. One blade usually does 10 deer. Good for me.

My brother and use the Buck 12 point model knives with gut hook. Under 50 bones and works great. Not too big or heavy but big enoungh to feel good in your hand when slippery with blood.

Take a look at the Outdoor Edge swing blade. I've never been crazy about having a gut hook on my primary blade.

Now that is redneck ingenuity, I like it. Think I'll give it a try, thanks.
