H.R. 7115 ban in the works...goodbye AR builds.

Assuming it gets anywhere in the House... which is going to be tough given that a lot of Red State dems ran opposing any firearms legislation....

It dies in the Senate. And/or gets stomped in the WH.

If this is how they want to spend 2 years... it will ensure a Red Wave in 2020.

Cheers,

Sirhr

Well, let’s see... subsection 3:
BAN ON POSSESSION OR TRANSFER OF FIREARM WITHOUT SERIAL NUMBER.—It shall be unlawful for any person, in or affecting interstate or foreign commerce, to possess or transfer a firearm made after 1968 by a person who is not a licensed manufacturer, unless—

“(A) a serial number and identifying mark for the firearm has been issued under this section;

“(B) within 10 days after the issuance, the serial number and identifying mark is stamped on or otherwise permanently affixed to the firearm; and

So, this says that any and all firearms made without a serial number after 1968 are illegal unless you get a SN from an FFL, affix it within 10 days and then bring it to the dealer to show proof of same. Sounds legit.

In addition, it makes illegal to advertise for parts kits and also to purchase and own them, effectively making it impossible to build your own. This then makes the basic law requiring serial numbers just a way to confiscate those already existing out there.

Even an FFL cannot build an AR, semi pistol, rifle or shotgun unless he also becomes a manufacturer.

Maybe the OP should just shorten the thread title to "Goodbye"?
