I know these do not fall under the same realm as your bolt action rifles, but for a single shot 308 with a bull barrel would these make an accurate rifle?

Does anyone have any trigger time with one or know anyone that has one? Would they make a good low budget tac driver?

Thanks, Dan

Re: H&R Survivor 308

Hey I own one, just picked it up last month, and have to say nice for the price. I got it on trade for a model 85 wheel gun so price was right (like $10 shipping) its not a remington 700 but its 1/4 the price. I dont know why we all dont have one i mean come on $250 thats not bad at all plus I think it makes one a better shooter b/c you got 1 shot it has to hit or no kill. Down side is not great triggers, mine came in at 5 pounds but h&r will take it down to 3.5 for free if you get a new barrel fited to it or $35 I think if not, so that helps. shot 1 inch average 3 shot group at 100 yards with match 168gr ammo. All in all worth the money. hope i helped i know its an older post

Re: H&R Survivor 308

Unfottunatly i'm not real familar with the H&R but i can say that Ruger #1's which are also single shot can hit flys @ 100 yds with the proper barrel & trigger (according to my friend). My friend who is a gunsmith has a few of these he/the store he works at built. They shoot well & look great with aftermarket triggers in them. I think he said his trigger is set at less than 1 pound. Any good reputable gunsmith should be able to do a good trigger job for your H&R.
