H4350 vs IMR 4350 for 260 Loads

I've seen tons of good loads for 260 Remington with H4350 and am most appreciative of the contributions.

I have a fairly large supply of IMR 4350 and have used it for my 260 loads with good results but have always wondered why H4350 seems more popular? Better availability, superior metering in the powder measure, more consistent results?

I've never used Hogdon 4350 and am curious.

H4350 is an Extreme powder and therefore less sensitive to temperature variation

To build on ssg's input the H4350 is a gold standard for temporary stability. The burn rate between the two is very very close. I have used both in my 260 with only tiny changes in load.

+1 on the H for temp stability.

I just finished a workout here in AZ at around 110*+ [really didn't want to know how high it was!!!] with no problems with my 260/H4350.

It works.

I am also burning up IMR, will transition to H, tad more speed to boot.

Thanks for the info, I wasn't aware that H4350 was an "extreem" powder. I figured there must be an advantage of some sort. Thanks for clarifying.

I'll also make the switch to H when I use up my stash of IMR.

Try H4831sc also. I've had the most consistent results out of this powder with my Creedmoor. I've got a good starting load for you with that .260

I'm getting 2835fps w/ 43g 4350 remmy case f210m in my surgeon/krieger 260 26" tube. 2.82OAL 139g Sencears
