Re: Half Cut or Full Length Scope Mount?

What is a half cut scope mount?
Do you perhaps mean a 2 piece scope base?

The advantage of a 1 piece base is that the rings get aligned better.

With 2 piece bases, you are at the mercy of the receiver to align the two pieces.
In my opinion, a 1 piece scope base is the way to go.

Re: Half Cut or Full Length Scope Mount?

Not to mention a one peice gives you tons more mounting options in the terms of ring and scope distances and eye relief.

Re: Half Cut or Full Length Scope Mount?

one piece all the way everything else is just a waste of money.

Re: Half Cut or Full Length Scope Mount?

if you run a ADL*BDL stock & really low scope, a 2 piece gives a larger port opening for reloading

Re: Half Cut or Full Length Scope Mount?

One piece is best. If using two be sure to check alignment and shim as necessary.
