If you can't afford a costume for your kid, throw a F'n sheet over his/her head. If you can't afford to do that, stay home. I'm sure back in my kid days, in the 60's, people couldn't afford costumes either, so you backed up and "punted". F' I had a "sheet" a couple of times, IIRC.
