Ham/Radio guys,... notice anything different about this sun cycle

This is the most interesting Sun cycle, I've ever seen & its really got radio guys scratching their heads. In normal cycles if you Rx ability is lacking the guy on the other end can add Tx power and both can hear each other w/minor or no issue. This cycle is just the opposite depending a few things the more power you use the worst it is on the other end. CW (Morris Code) which is absolute last resort backup, is like that now. A bud is on the edge of ground wave on 80 meters, and using 5 watts or less its good most of the time. Once we start up in power the worst it gets on both ends, and after 25-30watts the signals are completely gone in both transceivers. Digital is the same way as is SSTV.
Been some talk that uncle is testing, to be able to block the complete RF spectrum, including Microwave. Even with freq & mode hopping we get the same results, so if he is doing it his shit will not work either. Which always brings us back to Mr sun after awhile,...

Radio (FM Broadcast Band) and cellular network has become crap.

I like listening to FM. Sometimes it's load and clear, and other times it's noisy as hell. No rhyme or reason?

At our local Amateur Radio Club meeting, my neighbor made the comment that 6m is dead, he never hears a peep on it. I forgot to ask him if he's hearing the beacons?

Noticed for the first time last night numerous satellites moving South to North (Polar Orbit), even saw three in a triangle pattern at one time.

Speaking of satellites, a new satellite company is petitioning the Government to sell them part of our 70cm Band... Dirty Bastards!

12 meters to 70cm are bands I/we don't use much at all, save odd freqs for local level movements, ect. HF & microwave are our main usage these days, as we stay away from all repeaters. Most of us have the portable stuff setup where we can quickly switch to NVIS if need be. I use to check the beacons often but have learned how to decipher WWV for most all things in the US. We do use ALE with others across the ponds and that works great most every time.

Curious what freq you use for MW? Analog, Digital, SSTV (which is a good encryption for the average prying ears)?

What bands do you have the best success with using NVIS? Diapole a couple feet off the ground?
