Applied Ballistics is holding its final seminar of the year at the end of this month. For those who follow us on the forum we are offering $75 off per seat. Use the following code at checkout: FallSeminarForum

Tickets: https://store.appliedballisticsllc.com/product_p/s3000.1018.htm

Attendees of the seminar will have access to exclusive discounts. Kestrel Elite's for $600, Anything Garmin makes for 20% off, and more.

This is your opportunity to learn about external ballistics. The finer details of primary and secondary effects. How much each weighs into decision making, how to manage them, and get hands on classes with how to use ballistic calculator software and devices like a pro. This class offers hands on, and one on one instruction. Aside from the formal classroom each student will get hours of breakout session time to ask the instructors in a one on one setting. Aside from the AB Staff you can meet with representatives from Berger Bullets, Vortex Optics, Defensive Edge, Garmin, Sig Sauer and more.

Just some of the instruction includes:
  1. Trajectory Buildup – Baseline Trajectory, Gravity Drop, Vacuum Trajectory, & Aerodynamic Drag
  2. Trajectory Features – Zeroing, Point Blank Range, Danger Space, & Uphill/Downhill Effects.
  3. Sights – Tall Target Test (Sight Scale Factor & Cant), Aperture Sights, Turrets vs Holding Reticles, & Extreme Adjustment for ELR (Including a class by Vortex Engineer and Champion Shooter Ian Klemm).
  4. Drag Modeling – What is a drag model, how is drag measured, how is a drag model used, & standard drag models.
  5. Ballistic Coefficients – What is a BC, G1 and G7, Curve Fitting Challenges (averaged BCs, segmented BCs), & Estimating BCs.
  6. Wind – Nature of wind, Mechanism of wind deflection (velocity scaling, lag time, wind deflection), near wind vs far wind, wind measurement, terrain and vertical wind, Wind strategies for competition, Wind coaching. (Including a class by 18 time national and 2 time world champion former head coach of Army Marksmanship Unit Emil Praslick).
  7. Basic Stability – Gyroscopic Stability Factor, Twist Rate Effects (muzzle velocity, precision, & BC)
  8. Advanced Stability – Gyroscopic vs Dynamic Stability, Limit Cycle Yaw, Twist rate and Stability Effects in Transonic Flight, & Spin Decay
  9. Secondary Effects – Spin Drift, Coriolis, Aerodynamic Jump, Accounting for Secondary Effects in Ballistic Solvers
  10. ELR Shooting – Transonic effects, Secondary Effects, Critical Nature of (Ranging, MV Measurement, Drag Modeling, Wind), Equipment Currently Being Used & Bullet Selection.
  11. WEZ Analysis – What is WEZ, Confidence Environments, Precision (Wind, Range, MV), Accuracy (Sights, Trajectory Modeling, Secondary Effects, Calibration (Trueing)).
  12. Ballistic Solvers – Components (Interface, Solver/Simulation, Model), Potential Accuracy, & Walk through of use with technical explanation of inputs.
  13. Other Topics – Technology, Laser Range Finders, Non-Linear Divergence, & Much More.
The AB instructors will be the following:
  • Bryan Litz
  • Nick Vitalbo
  • Doc Beech
  • Mitch Fitzpatrick
  • Al Barnhart

Aside from the AB Staff we will also have the following guest instructors:

  1. Emil Praslick (Berger Bullets)
  2. Mark Lonsdale (Operational Studies Group)
  3. Ian Klemm (Vortex Optics)
  4. Shawn Carlock (Defensive Edge)

Where: Pine Needles Lodge & Golf Club in Southern Pines, North Carolina. (Breakfast, Lunch, & Dinner is included for both days on site).

As well as top level instruction, attendees will also receive materials valued at over $500:
  1. Complete Applied Ballistics Media Set (All 5 Books + DVD)($270 Value)
  2. ELR Shooting with Applied Ballistics DVD. ($25 Value)
  3. Applied Ballistics Analytics Software ($200 Value)
  4. Binder with handouts and worksheets.
  5. Certificate of Course Completion.
  6. Swag bag with goodies.

How to get there: We recommend flying into one of the following locations if you do not plan on driving in.
  1. Fayetteville Regional Airport - 45 Miles (1 hour)
  2. Raleigh-Durham International Airport - 69 Miles (1 hour 15 minutes)
  3. Greensboro - 86 Miles (1 hour 30 minutes)

Why do you keep picking these CRAPPY locations to hold these conferences?

If you fly, you have to drive at least an hour from any airport to get there. There is no shuttle service from any airport. Thanks to all of that, you are adding in the cost of a rental car.

If you drive, this place is 45 mins from the nearest interstate on 2 lane roads. Unless you live right on the east coast, this is going to be an 8+ hour drive for anyone east of the Mississippi. If you are west of the Mississippi, forget about it.

There are plenty of locations that are:
- Centrally located on either the East or West Coast, so the majority of people on that side of the country should not have to drive over 6-8 hours
- Close to a major airport, and shuttle service options are available

I am pretty sure that if you would pick those locations, rather than these locations that are in the middle of no where, that you would be selling these out in a matter of days.

These seminars are the best that you could ever attend, but trying to get to them is ridiculous. Talking to a lot of other shooters, I am NOT alone on this.

Thank you for the feedback, I will make sure to share this with our team.
