Got out to range To shoot rifle with new rebarreled barrel. Shooting some factory Corbon 308 168gr ammo. 4th trigger pull with 5 round mag and nothing. I guess bolt missed feeding round from mag then BANG. First time this ever happened Blaster

You should be aware enough to be able to feel if the round gets stripped out and chambered.

Just for information sake, how was the ammo stored? Heat has been the #1 cause of any hang fires I have had over the years.

I am curious about this to. I have a hang fire once every blue moon and I cant find any pattern as to ammo handling/storage that would explain it. I use CCI magnum primers almost exclusively and every now and then Ill just have a slow one. How does heat affect the primers?

Benchrest or match primers have a smaller flash to start with.
Any kind of oil or dampness contamination when handeling them can cause problems. Even touching primers with your bare hands can cause problems from the skin oils and sweat. I try to never actually touch primers by hand. But heat will cause the powder and primers to deteriorate.
My uncle used to carry a box of rounds on the dash of his truck. He would average 2 or 3 hang fires or misfires per each deer season. I tried to tell him about heat deterioration. But he never did listen. I know of several deer he lost because of it.

Victor...that is a common mode of carry here in Mississippi too. The vibration can pack some granules into the flash hole and cause a stoppage of the ignition cycle. JMHO

If it occurs in battery it shouldn't make a difference.
As a novice handloader I have been extremely careful with my primers. I will handle them with clean, rubber coated tweezers if they need to be manipulated. This will certainly add even more fuel to the fire that is my paranoia.

What brand gun are you shooting blaster?
I had a problem with this in my Rem700XCR 300WM
The detent spring got off of it's centering pin on the back side of the trigger. Scared the hell out of me now there's a Jewell on there.

Turns out rifle was recently rebedded deeper than before and safety was riding and binding on stock not completely in fire. Blaster
