Well okay, it’s not really my birthday, but I take what I can get.
Quick backstory:
I was furloughed end of March and expected to be called back mid May. So I ordered some bullets and brass for my new 6BR. I ordered from the best deal I could find, which happened to be with a solid small dealer I had had good experiences and prices before. They showed as in stock.
The following day I received a back order notice, so damn. Okay, I’ll wait, shouldn’t be long. A month later I email on a Friday and get a quick response that they are out of the office but will be back Monday and update me with status. Monday comes and goes with no response so a day or two later I emailed again, followed by a phone call a day after that.
Zero response, so I decided by then that the relative shortage and demand for 6BR stuff would be a problem. Plus, I now knew that this furlough thing wasn’t soon ending, by all appearances. It wasn’t.
Fast forward to today. The plant is closing in a month and I am laid off along with everybody else. But I received an email from said supplier that my order is on its way. I know that I paid for these and that this kind of delay would not normally be acceptable, but it worked out for me, since I’m a bit out of pocket now and a supply of loading components means I’m good to shoot for a good amount of time while I adjust to things.
If you read all of this, then bless you, lol. You have as much patience as I do. Sorry to leave you disappointed, but I never promised you a rose garden.
