Thinking of picking one of these up. Anyone have one that would like to share their experience?

Seems like a great system for the price.

Never used a kit like this one. Always give them to dad and let him take care of it. Lol. Buddy of mine has a wicked edge sharpening system that's similar. His works awesome and will put a razor edge on anything

Wow...that's cool. That'd put my set of Arkansas stones to shame; though I'm never giving up my black hard stone. Funny how novaculite really fell out of favor. I assume that's due to the harness of a lot of the newer stainless.

Sorry for the delay guys. Wanted to get some time behind it before I posted.
I got the M2 located here https://www.gritomatic.com/products/hapstone-m2-knife-sharpener?variant=29440915144813

Pros:
Can get a very sharp edge
Very easy to use
I got an upgraded stone set but the ones that come with the unit work just fine

Cons:
I don't like the non-mechanical magnetic holder. It will do large or small blades, but extremes on either end are difficult. Small blades are hard to position, large blades move around because of forces put onto the blade far away from the center. If I had to do it over again, I'd go with one of the more expensive models that have the clamp system or add one of these https://www.gritomatic.com/collecti...oducts/rotating-clamp-upgrade-for-hapstone-m2

I have't yet upgraded to the clamp, but will soon. I'll report back once I get it.

Call Konstantin, the owner of Gritomatic. He may take your unit back, and with some cash, upgrade you to the top of the line Hapstone, the R2, or another unit of your choosing. He's a good guy I assume he'd help you out.
