Hard to believe that UPS is still a thing.

The only thing sure about surepost is the delay......and from my experience a high probability of being lost

But last time the lost a package i ended up with a free kriss vector stock 3 days after the replacment shipped

Everybody shits on USPS but if you consider the volume they carry they do a damn good job. I had a priority mail package mailed from a rural town in northern California on a Tuesday and received it Thursday afternoon. In 50 plus years of mailing stuff I can count the fuck ups on one hand.

So here's the problem with USPS. I ordered something from Doug and paid the extra 3 bucks for insurance. Thus it had to be signed for. I probably should have sent it to work but I really don't like to send "firearm related" packages there. So, no problem. However, USPS came yesterday and left a note on my door. Saying available for pickup AFTER Dec 31. So I go online and try to track the package and stop it from being delivered a second time out (never sure if they attempt a second delivery or not). Couldn't do anything, no hold, nothing. There were ZERO updates at all until JUST NOW where it says it's being held at PO since 5:10PM yesterday!!!

The crappy thing is I had to go to the PO today anyway, but my PO is about 25 minutes out of the way to work so I said...well...it said AFTER 31, so it's likely in the delivery vehicle (rural service) and who knows if they unload every night. This weekend, I'll stop the driver Saturday and find out the policy.

So, for all the millions they spend, they still cannot approach anywhere close to real-time tracking of packages. i worked on the handwriting recognition project at University and they have great technology there; but why the heck cannot they get their tracking up to snuff? The only advantage is that it's still a LOT faster than tracking down the customer care center for FED EX (about 30 miles away) and UPS (bad part of town like always).

I go UPS > FedEx > the 150 yr old pony express > meth head delivery and then maybe usps. USPS are f'ing crooks. I had a muzzle brake ordered from TBAC back in August with tracking. Mail delivery person confirmed delivery. Nothing in mailbox. Went to complain 2x. Nothing. My neighbor 2 months later had same issue right next to my box. Idiot put it in someone elses box but still declared it delivered. Fortunately the recipient found my neighbors box and "redelivered" it. Then I got a whole bundle of my neighbors mail in my box a couple weeks ago. If my brake had been stolen in route, TBAC had insurance on it and could have replaced it. But since the USPS delivery driver lied i have no recourse. They are federal, therefore untouchable. I still haven't ordered a new brake yet I'm so pissed.
