Just a gee-wiz question, I've got a Rem700 in 308 that I had cut down to 20" and a B&C Medalist stock on it as well as a muzzle break. Well not to get into great details but I haven't shot in a year and took it out yesterday. I noticed when I fire there's a sort of "SPRONG" sound thru the stock. Now I'm certain that this is the barrel's harmonics and Im just wondering how this is in higher end rifles, does this still occur?

Check your action bolts and make sure they are torqued correctly from 45 - 65 inch pounds. Check the space around the barrel for possible contact with the barrel. If that is good, look down the tube for the kid's slinky
