Poland is banning Abortion and Magic--
snip

Catholic priests in northern Poland have burned books they consider to be sacrilegious, including ones from the Harry Potter boy wizard series.
An evangelical group, the SMS from Heaven Foundation, published pictures of the burning - which took place in the city of Gdansk - on Facebook.
They also show an elephant figurine and a tribal mask burning on the book pile.
The Facebook post justifies the bonfire with Bible quotes condemning magic. The group sends Christian messages via SMS.

Considering harry potter is just a vessel to push socialist ideals, I’m not surprised.

People like to make the comparison to post weimar early-nazi germany whenever burning books comes up.
However, they’re also exceptionally evasive about saying what books were burned. Hint: Books on Communism/socialism, and medical research promoting homosexuality and transgenderism, which coincidently the authors were mostly jewish.

Its of course frowned upon to study a bit of history...

Holy shit, this thread title and article heading has me cracking the fuck up, lol.

I've been to Poland many times, mostly Warsaw and Wroclaw, shit like this is uncommon. A lot of them have a very American type of mentality, the "lead, follow, or get outta the way" types. They miss out on a lot of the bleeding heart Euro trends and shit, culturally speaking.

Very nice country. And they have a very well engrained gun culture too. I believe it is the only European country that has it's own branch of S.A.S.S. / NCOWS cowboy-action shooting and quickdraw shooting events. There is a replica Old West town in NW Poland where they have their End Of Trail events. The annual Great Northfield Bank Robbery reenactment in Northfield, MN has several Polish-Americans playing the parts of both the members of the Jesse James-Younger outlaw gang and the armed townsmen who exchanged gunfire with them.

I would definitely love to go there and shoot in a 'Wild Bunch' match with them.

They also have an admiration for good American firearms designs. This guy built a gigantic FIRING replica of the legendary Remington Model 1858 revolver. Took him 2,500 hours of labor and all parts were built by hand. Guinness World Records confirmed:

I'm not offended by the idea of people drawing upon a series of fantasy children's looks to try and help understand why we're here and what it all means. Ideally, practice one's beliefs without animosity towards others.

What concerns me beyond the book-burning itself, which I find troubling, is that their approach towards destroying anything not squarely within their interpretation of "The Church" is so vilely ecumenical.

The "elephant" was most likely a representation of Ganesh, a Hindu god. Were someone to desecrate SGGSJ before me, I would defend my faith, especially if their actions were undertaken in order to suppress the practice of other religions.

I'm glad to say that I've known many Poles, and this does not reflect them in the least.

Upset about poland defending Poland? Would it shock you to know there are schools in the US that don't allow witchcraft of any kind even to the extent of no pumpkins with a face drawn on them at holloween? Same schools will also expel a queer and even send a note home when your boys hair touches his ears. I say fire up the bonfires and don't stop with books.
