Any opinions on which might be the better, Sinclair or Hart? Lots of good posts on the Sinclair, but I'm not really sure I prefer the All-Purpose better than their flat-top rest. Just seems like that All-Purpose would leave you kinda stuck if you didn't like it. But, if I can get as good or better 'rest for = or less $ maybe I'd go w. Hart. Just havn't heard as much about them. I'd like to know about the fit & finish on these. I assume each is powder-coated & the finish holds up? Adjustments good, precise & repeatable? No complaints? Just let me know what you like/dislike about each. Thanks.

Re: Hart vs Sinclair Benchrest

I have used both, I like them both. Also have a Bald Eagle, it is lighter. I ended up building my own. All three of those rests are nice enough for BR shooting. There are other rests out there. Best thing to do is go to a Bench Rest or F class match and look at the rests that they are using. Those guys will help you out.

Re: Hart vs Sinclair Benchrest

Both are very good, I like the Hart the best but both are just as good. What are you using it for? Will you need a windage top or a joy stick? Your application will determine the best for you.

Re: Hart vs Sinclair Benchrest

For serious BR work nothing beats the Farley Coaxial rest.
I don't think it is the best choice for F-Class and I have had some issue with it when shooting rifles in 17+ pound weight.
I have a Hart base with a Russ Haydon fully adjustable top on it. It is heavy, so it doesn't move around much, and it will work with any weight rifle. It is also equally at home on a bench or from prone.

Re: Hart vs Sinclair Benchrest

Thanx jbell. I've 5 rifles, .22s thru 30-06, 4 of which I've owned for over 30 yrs. Never zeroed any of 'em in & just got a twitch to get back into shooting. I tested myself as best I could as a teen w. a .22 w. no equip. at all. I'll prbly not shoot competitively, just 4 fun. I'll shoot prone & sitting w. a GI sling, standing off-hand & I'd like to try the bench. Thought about a cheaper Caldwell but read reviews they are kinda limited. So, I've been lookin' at the above 2. I've just read where shooters are getting better results off a br than w. just bags alone. So I figured what the he.., go ahead & get a decent br.

Re: Hart vs Sinclair Benchrest

I have tried just about all of the good and not so good rests. My all time favorite is the Bald Eagle Slingshot. I like it way better than the Hart or Sinclair. They ain't cheap but neither is anything else that's worth having.
