A friend of mine was thinking about trying it instead of using Moly, anyone tried it?

I haven't used it, but if it works it sounds like a break through in barrel cleaning and conditioning. Let us know if this does work.

Im a fan. Used it in several OEM barrels such as Remington and Tikka and it definetly eliminated the copper fouling. My Tikka .270 is running the 110TTSX at 3400fps and after 500rounds it shows only the tiniest but of copper at the muzzle. I will never shoot another muzzleloader that is not coated with the stuff, clean up is way to easy without all the hassles.

.243 Brux was also coated and it has 800 through it without a cleaning but dont know if that is attributed to the quality of the barrel or the product.

Did you notice a change in POI or accuracy?

I don't see how anything just .25 microns thick and only applied once can do any harm to your bore. It may also do no good, but I don't think there should be any risk in trying it.

No change in accuracy or poi. It works for me but I think an OEM barrel is the best candidate to show any improvement in fouling. I think the better barrels are less likely to show any changes.

mmmmm...

I have used SmoothKote before in my barrels, but that doesnt stress me out as it can be removed if need be.

I dont know if i believe that something can be applied once and never comes off considering it would be an air dry product.

Im calling shenanigans.

A buddy and I were just discussing this the other day. He did it on his .270AI and noticed a difference in cleaning but that was it. He says it definitely made it easier to clean and it seems to stay cleaner. I asked about the effect on accuracy and he coudn't say since he did it before firing the first round. Rifle now has about 600 rounds through it and he has seen no ill effects and it's still easy to clean.

I am interested to here other results and input.
