Am new to the forum and from across the pond. Does anybody know whether Quicksilver Silencers (QSM) has been shut down in the US? I wanted to get one of their cans here in the UK and when I contacted the guy who runs QSUK here he said they no longer had any links with QSM because the US State Department was investigating QSM US over ITAR violations in their activities. It is a real shame as they appeared to be good cans and people here talk highly of them. Has anybody got any info they can share?

Re: Has Quicksilver Silencers (QSM) been shut down?

I think you will find it impossible to get one , as far as i know they had no export docs for silencers or drawing/plans.
and yes you need export docs for a cad program etc if its for a silencer.
they could be facing serious charges as could the guy in london,
if they have tried to do this without the proper paper work , i have no sympathy as one call to the US department they would have been told what was needed.
have you read about yorkguns and guy savage?

Re: Has Quicksilver Silencers (QSM) been shut down?

Me and 6 buddies did a small group buy with qwicksilver back in February and the transfer went very smoothly. I just picked mine up tonight and after looking at it I want to order another one. They are made very well. I hope this is not true about the company.

This should hush the rumor, straight from the QSM HQ:

Sir,
The rumors of our demise are premature, although I’m sure our competitors would love it if we went out of business.

QSM is alive and well, currently working with the military and government in suppressor design.

Apparently nothing. Was that a bit of spin I noted in their response? What have they supplied to the armed forces in the US? Funny they say they are working with the government in suppression design if THEY are being investigated for ITAR violations. Sounds a bit too far fetched to me.

As your in the UK.
I would recommend a silencer from lei good price and one of the quietest front mounted ones available, take apart for cleaning . Fairly standard design bomb proof .more money slightly smaller would be the b&t
