Bought your wife a gun, liked it so much you wanted to buy another for yourself?

Yesterday, I took my wife shopping for a carry pistol. Recently, she had looked at and liked the Ruger LCP. It fit her small hands and she liked the light weight. I thought that was what we were going to buy.

While looking, the salesman showed her a Sig P365 and she immediately fell in love with it. That is what she came home with. I also really, really like it.

Would it be silly to buy me one or just lay claims to her's?

I would definitely agree that the P365 is a much more refined pistol than the Ruger LCP
I'd suggest get yourself a P365XL to match your wife's P365 and be all good.

I found a good deal on a S&W 65-5 3” Ladysmith and justified the purchase by thinking it would make a great anniversary gift to my wife. Three years later and she still is wondering on which anniversary she can have it lol.

I’ve got both a 365 and LCP too. Really like the 365 - it’s a pretty soft shooter for the size. LCP is great for tucking in front pocket but definitely not as enjoyable to shoot as the 365 - I’d say she made a great choice.

The last time Rebecca and I went pistol shopping, she had an idea of what she wanted.
From the few trips previous to this one, she kept gravitating towards the Sig 238.

Before heading out, we talked about the Glock, the M&P, Kimber, Sig, Walther, and a few other compact pistols.

We talked about reliability, concealability, weight, fit, and feel.
The last thing on the list was looks.

She handled everything that fit her idea of a concealment pistol. The biggest issue was that she wanted a 380, not a 9mm.

After two hours of playing with different pistols including a few compact 9mm, she stuck with the Sig 238.
She liked the way it fit her hand. She liked that if she grabbed the pistol with her eyes closed and raised it, that the sights lined up.
Like myself, the Glock angle put the front of the pistol high for her.

She ended up purchasing the 238 with the included laser.
It was a great training aid but after 400 rounds, she removed it and likes it better that way.

She bought the S&W Shield for me a month later and has also shot that. One thing she remarked is that the recoil is very soft for a compact pistol, and it's easy to control.

I have 2K rounds thru the G43 and 250 -1250 on the others, EXCEPT the Ruger.......only 130 rnds, it hurts my mid palm after 2-3 magazines!
The Ruger is the easiest to conceal however in part due its almost complete absence of a front sight.

I find the Sig TruGlo sights work well for me on these small frames; the P365 already had the Xray front sight.

The Elite Survival front pocket holsters are useful.

I installed a GrayGuns flat trigger in the P365.

Bought my Wife a S&W M&P .380 Bodyguard (with incorporated laser) this year because her old wrist injury was acting up and she was getting frustrated racking the M&P 9 Shield.

Danged if that ain't one neat little piece. I got it at the Base Exchange nearby, and saved a bunch. Another is highly likely for the household. As concealability goes, it's up to the task. I've provided Sig Sauer 90gr V-Crown ammo for it.

The Shield is already in other (family) hands.

    380 Bodyguard.

Greg, I thought I would hate the BG380, added XS dot sights and am surprised at what a decent gun it is.

OP, i've shot the 365 and think it is a great CCW. If it was available at the time I would have opted for it rather than a M&P Shield

I like the Shield, but in comparison to the BG380, it's huge; especially with the magazine base plates that incorporate grip extensions.

I'm tall and have hands with an XL/XXL glove size, so tiny guns need some help for me to use them effectively. The BG380 also has the grip extension magazine floor plates.

The Wife has a couple of handbags with CCW pockets on the rear panel.

The 380 is not a 44 Mag, but it's not a 22 short, either. My Brother's CCW is the Beretta 21A Bobcat.

My wife read about the XD .45 and decided ahe had to have it . I told her salooow
down . Let's find one to rent and check it out . Low and behold the indoor range I belong to had one . Checked eegonomics , operation of slide , slide release and mag release . Seemed good so we rented and shot it . Wow . Natural point , follow up , negligable recoil and decent trigger . So she bought it I fell in love and decided to buy my own . It's now my carry piece . I can easily run middle of the pack shooting steel challenge and indoor action pistol . I purchased thw XDM 5.25 Competition and with a Powdwr River trigger I have palced fifth in steel challenge . Man I get wood over the Springfields .
