I've been running a chassis for the last few years and so far, I like them.

Currently, I've got two of the ACCs. One on a Surgeon/6.5 Creed, and one on my Vudoo.

I can't get the Vudoo to balance well, even with the weight kits, but I also want to try something new, and lighter weight.

So, I'm leaning towards making the change to a stock. I'm looking at a Manners or a Foundation.

I like the full ARCA rail on the chassis, but I could do the same with a stock, so that isn't a big deal.

I do really like having an adjustable LOP and that's not super common on a stock.

Have any of you made the change?

Anything that's extremely different and difficult to overcome? Or was it a pretty easy switch?

I have moved from stocks to chassis over the years, from T4As to MPAs.
It took me some match seasons, but I've realized I much prefer a pistol grip, or even a thumbhole grip in order to safely quickly muscle a rifle around between positions, and a shorter than avg LOP.
Once you dial your proper LOP, you can order that LOP length you need on any stock.
For my vudoo, for all of your reasons, I have a light Manners MCS-EH5 on order that will get an arca rail, and it should balance well enough with my 18" Kukri.
Otherwise, the Vudoo might find its way into an XLR...
The Vudoo rimfire thread had some good posts on balance with contours and stocks--folks do say the foundations are rear heavy-ish. 🤷‍♂️

I think a lot of guys who shoot stocks today are the guys who shot before chassis were mainstream.

I’ve been through Manners T4A, AICS, AIAX, MPA BA COMP, Manners EH1A, Foundation, MDT LSS XL

I’ve learned that getting accustomed to shooting with a stock 15+ years ago has me most comfortable on a stock, but not necessarily any more accurate.

I’m using a Foundation Centurion currently and have for the first time in my life reaches my personal zen in a precision rifle.

I run all over the place with this

I switched my 260 from a chassis to a stock so it is closer in feel to my fclass gun to use as a trainer

I swapped my HS stock to a MDT chassis and don’t regret it

I bought my AIAT which has the legacy skins and is a middle point as far as I’m concerned. And I absolutely love it!

Just bought a FN SPR with a McMillan A5 and it feels very comfortable

Depending on the stock the LOP is the thing I give up the most. I have a 15” LOP and most stocks don’t offer that

I've thought about this. Any quality stocks with LOP adjustment (spacers are fine), recoil pad height adjustability and cheek rest adjustability?

I’ve gone back and forth quite a bit. Here are my takeaways:

Chassis is more user friendly to customize. Especially with balancing. Much easier to attach weights. A stock is much more work to balance.

Almost every chassis is limit to a 1.5” wide forearm due to the arca rail. A stock like the centurion is 2.6” wide and rides a bag very well (without the full arca rail). But if you run the arca, you effectively turn the 2.6” forearm into a 1.5” which is very noticeable while shooting.
