Having rifle painted

Hey all!

I'm considering having a couple rifles duracoated in some camp pattern and I have a couple of questions.

What is the protocol for sending and receiving rifles for work? Do I have to do any FFL nonsense just to get it worked on?

Can you guys make some recommendations for people who do quality duracoat paint jobs?

Re: Having rifle painted

An individual can ship a rifle to a ffl. I've always used USPS. I've had my fill with ups on shipping rifles (big hassle in my area)

But what about when I get my rifle back from being worked on? Do I need to go through the FFL BS to take possession of a rifle I already own but sent out to get a paint job?

Nope your FFL can ship directly to your home. There is no transfer taking place.

Re: Having rifle painted

A firearm can be directly shipped back to the owner after it is "repaired"

For paint, I would probably go with Manners. Todd does some excellent work!
