having my DPMS re barreled and a DD lite rail installed..

I will be running a Gemtech Quicksand suppressor prob 80% of the time. I was going to go with an 18" pipe, but but am weighing in on 20 or 16 as well.. Guess I would like to hear what you guys are running.

I know with the 20" there will be less back pressure running suppressed, and less unburned powder in the can, as well as a bump in velocity. The 16 seems like it will run the internals harder, increasing wear of the overall system. KAC claims 2560 fps from 20 and 2517 fps from 16" so velocity seems negligible to 800. If I can't get a rifle length system on 18 I figure I mind as well go 20.

well... let it begin.

Edit: this is the current pic.

its definitely not a multi role rifle, and i don't think a 16" pipe will change that, so i'm not looking for a "CQB yoda gun" or some crazy crap. With that said I use this rifle for hunting, shooting LR, fun, etc.

my thought process is that you aren't going to be shoulder firing this much (im assuming that from the scope and the stock), id go with the 20". you get less backpressure, more FPS, and less recoil.

for my setups, i have 'carrying around rifles' that are 16" or under and then 'not carrying around rifles' that are 22"+.
