Has anyone seen/tried one of these scopes? They're ideally specced for what I want; just a bit dubious of the quality. Any feedback appreciated

For reference.

Vortex and Athlon are not the only ones that can offer decent branded chicom products. Bussines model is quite similar . Warranty sounds similar as well.

''HAWKE NO-FAULT LIFETIME WARRANTY
We've got you covered… for life.
When you buy your new Hawke scope or binocular, you're buying peace of mind… for life. In the event your product becomes damaged or defective we'll repair it at no charge to you. It doesn't matter how it happened or whose fault it was - we've got you covered.
The Hawke No Fault Lifetime Warranty is only available directly through our US service centre.''

Seems like, for that kind of money, you can go with something that has a decent track record and is a more known quantity. I think the camaraland $800 Steiner 4-16 sale is still going on. That's what I'd do.

In our Field Target air rifle club this brand has failed more than any other brand, this is why I never bought one, and that was long before Athlon existed.

Friend bought one for long range, it broke and after a long sad story of multiple trips back and forth, he sold the new one that was sent to him.

IMO it's IOR of the cheap scopes....

I have not had any of those problems with half dozen or so Hawkes I have tested. Which models were those?

The only real appeal of it to me is the fact that it is about the only ~600gm, 30mm tube, FFP, mil/mil with a decent reticle, moderate magnification etc scope available pretty much. I would rather it was priced at 3x what it is, and made by NF/S&B/Vortex/Leupold but they don't make anything comparable.

How about this.
You buy it from us and if you don't like it after you shoot with it we take it back? A no lose situation, however, when you do like it and decide to keep it you post a review of it here for the members to see that Hawke makes a worthy product.
Fair enough?

That's a very fair offer Doug, however I'm outside US (New Zealand) and I believe that you don't export.

I didn't keep up with their models throughout the years, probably higher magnification models because they range better. Believe me, if I had had confidence in the brand I would have used them. I had no angst against them to begin with, that was earned.

Guy walks up and I'd ask how the match went, uh my scope broke, I asked which brand, it was either Hawke or Centerpoint most of the time.

It could be they are better nowadays, I don't know??, it's like IOR, I'm not taking a chance, I learned the hard way with that brand.

Seems like Hawke is the brand that gets bought right off by a beginner because that's the main brand the air rifle store in Phoenix sells, often they will move on after a season or two.

Sorry man....

This thread may be dead, but I was just looking at the Hawke Fronier FFP 3-15×50 MIL PRO, and this thread came up in my search. Was wondering about reliability, performance, and such. At this date I think they're around $659.00 on various sites. Is it worthwhile, or just spend a few more bucks and get a Vortex PST? New to this so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Like all brands, Hawke has different tier product lines.

If you buy a $100 scope, you get exactly that regardless of the brand.

My suggestion is talk to Doug at cameraland. He will take care of you.

I have two hawke frontier 5-30x50. The glass is index matched. I see no difference in the glass on the frontier hawke and my sightron siii. That says a lot because the sightron was twice as much as the frontier

I’ve seen two different models (older models) that were junk and didn’t track
or RTZ during training courses I was running. On both occasions I advised the
owners to contact the Hawke rep here in Aus. Both optics were upgraded to
Frontier models by the Hawke distributor.

The clicks and general feel of the new models were much better, about the
same as a PST. Haven’t run a tracking test on any client scopes yet, but if
they track and RTZ ok they seem reasonable for the $$.
