Hey gys, I've got a "16 Middy with a Gvt profile (under the handguard) barrel that I would like to configure into a short to midrange .556 SPR.
My first question is: Will the mid length gas system be ok or do I need to go to a rifle length gas system
and my second question is: Do I need to switch to a "18 heavy barrel or will the middy gvt profile be ok?
Just for reference I will be shooting at ranges anywhere from 100m to maybe 500m max with standard 55grn ammo. I have a nice Rem 700 SPS in .308 but have recently been thinking about a cheaper to run AR SPR for fun.
Thanks!
