I bet it would take just as long and cost just as much to get an FBI or CIA guy up to speed with an NYC patrol officer.

No doubt you are 100% correct-110%, however; I was only concerned regarding the ticket scandal, and how it could cost some their jobs, if FBI and CIA people are involved with the ticket fixing scandal I am not aware of it. I just hate to see that much time and money and effort go to waste because of a few dollars etc., what a shame.

Not sure you could do it, there isn't a school to teach you to be a street cop, only the street teaches that.
It would be much easier to teach a street cop FBI/CIA crap.

FYI, on the "take down an aircraft" thing that has been making so much internet fury - I haven't seen the quote in context (funny how the press does that) but the older SWAT guys I have worked with in the NE often use "take down" to mean assault or raid. As in "We had a warrant to take down that crack house." And not what everyone is assuming - "We can take down (shoot down) a plane."

Thousands of shoulder fired heat seeking AA units have "vanished" from Libya! They are being sold all over the Mid East (cheap), I guess in the interest of saving a few bucks, they could buy a few of these. My guess is we (America) will be seeing these in the near future, I'd rather see them in the hands of the NYPD, than those that have them now! I guess the "humanitarian mission" that NATO (US ordered by Obama) to "free" Libya will have a few glitches after all.....oooops.
