Looking for recommendations for a headspace gauge for 6.5 Creedmoor. Looked at lock-n-load but they don't list 6.5 creedmoor. For those who reload in this caliber, any suggestions? Thanks.

If you're looking for a conventional headspace gauge (for installing a barrel) try the Wilson. If you're looking at chamber clearance (for handloading) look into the Digital Headspace Gauge.

I'm looking for chamber clearance for handloading. I've seen the digital headspace gauge, and thought about getting it. Do you have personal experience with it? How does it determine the datum line of case?

I emailed Hornady and asked this a few weeks ago. Their response:
"I would recommend the .400" diameter headspace gauge bushing as a first choice and the second choice is the .375" diameter headspace gauge bushing."

I emailed Hornady and asked this a few weeks ago. Their response:
"I would recommend the .400" diameter headspace gauge bushing as a first choice and the second choice is the .375" diameter headspace gauge bushing."

I use the same on my 6.5 Hornady LnL Headspace Comparator Insert as I do with my 7-08 and my 308......

Innovative has a point-Are you looking for a measure from base pf case to a repeatable point on the shoulder where you can measure how much you are sizing fired vs. sized?

I use the same on my 6.5 Hornady LnL Headspace Comparator Insert as I do with my 7-08 and my 308......

Looking for the first or your three choices, to figure out how much to push back the shoulders of my fired cases to get the best accuracy. What are the advantages of digital headspace gauge over a comparator.

I have good results on the 65CM using the Hornady 400 diameter head space gauge bushing and Starrett caliper.
It may take 3 firings on your cases for the shoulder of the case to stop growing and max out in the rifles chamber.
If you start bumping the shoulder back after one firing you could set it back to much

DavidD - is that with a custom/match chamber or is that for a "loose" chamber you might see from a production rifle like a Rem700 ? Just curious as I had no idea it might take 3 firings before the cases were truly done "growing" in the chamber.
I s'pose you could check this by measuring before/after first firing and then see if the case would still fit in the chamber ? Is there a tool that measures that to tell you exactly what's going on rather than guessing or experimenting with chambering a 1x piece of brass ?

So just to clarify, .400" should measure 6.5 Creedmoor to dantum line accurately. Just want to make sure as on Hornady website does not list 6.5 Creedmoor under .400" grouping. Thanks.
