Hi all.

Well took my mp10 out for the first time today. Got a inexpensive scope ( Vortex Crossfire II 4-12x40 ) . And a decent set of rings.

I have the decibels ear protection but standing next to someone, they were not enough. So I put on my larger ear muffs over those also.

well can't get my eye behind my sight.

do I need a higher set of rings &/or different hearing protection?

thanks for any advice.

If you're getting good cheek weld with the scope mounted where it is at, than you may need to look into a lower profile set of hearing protection, or even in-ear type plugs. I use MSA Sordins, but there are cheaper ones available that work well. The Howard Leights are popular, cheap, and even have after-market gel cups available now for increased comfort. I wouldn't move the scope to work with hearing protection if you have proper cheek weld and a good sight picture.

I heard about electric earmuffs better then.. in ear?

Any good inner ear ones? I am guessing that sometimes cost does not equal quality.

And sometime it does.. lol.

Today was just to try to breakin the new gun. I need to get a decent spotting scope / bio. cant see the target at 50 yards (todays shooting) and once i go to 100..

it will be worse!!

again, thanks ago for all the info. Great site and glad someone in passing on another forum suggested it.

Have a look on Ebay for the Nacre system...
http://www.ebay.com/itm/112014539925
This system uses a central pod with tethered earplugs. It works very well and there's almost no physical interference when establishing a cheek weld.
Just my $.02.....worth everything you've paid for it.

Thanks and i did look it up. unsure this is what i am looking for or... (i might be off.. lol)..

unless it works without connecting to a radio of sorts.

thank you in advance.

The Nacre system works alone....or tethered to a radio.
The system is a pod and a cord that splits to two in ear foam buds.
You can hang the pod from a G-code belt carrier that also attaches to mole, like on a plate carrier.
They are very effective.
