Does anyone else suffer from this? I’m 6’3 @250lbs and 46 years old. I can shoot prone for about 15 minutes then my back cramps up and I can hardly stand up. My wife has been trying to get me into stretching exercises for years, maybe I should start doing them lol.

Stretching is a good thing. As a guy who is 6'1" 230 I gotta tell you putting your bipod out another notch or two will also make a world of difference.

6'3" @ 250 you don't need a gun just beat them to shit.

As mentioned, raise the bipod up a bit. I think it also helps to tuck a shooting bag under your armpit/side/chest area. I use a Wiebad Pump Pillow. It helps prevent my back and side from cramping up by filling the space between me and the ground. That said, the more I shoot prone, the less of a problem I have, so shooting, dry fire practice and stretching will help.

Stretch, practice, and see your local chiropractor. I'm a chiropractor and I have other shooters in all the time for the same thing. A little heat in the area wouldn't hurt either.

250 at 6’3” is not a heavyweight..build up some muscle and stay away from CrossFit or it will just get worse.:

You are weak and have muscle imbalances..correct them

This is absolutely true. I’ve been stretching and trying to lay prone at night for longer periods of time. What it has taught me is I am simply out of shape, which is odd cuz I have a very physical job plus keeping up my property I almost never sit still.

everyone falls into this pit....EVERYONE!

I sit a lot at work, so I do around 100 band pull aparts everyday to strengthen my rear delts to correct posture and build up...I also do a lot of lower back extensions, and glute/hamstring raises.....sometimes just a little assistance movements makes a big difference.

Is it the lower back?
