Hecate .50 cal?

Re: Hecate .50 cal?

Thanks for the link, just wanted to know if anybody has had hands-on time with one. Build quality, compared to another more common platform and the like. I have not seen the rifle but was wondering if it was worth checking out if he decides to sell it at some point down the road, even if it is just for the fact that they are not common.

The rifle could not be exported, from France.

The U.S., allowed the rifle to be imported. </div></div>

Then I will need to see what the story is behind this one if they decide to sell it. Seeing as how they are from S. Africa, perhaps that made it easier getting it here, who knows. I will just check the rifle out when I get a chance.

Re: Hecate .50 cal?

there's a couple of guys with this rifle on the Fifty Caliber Shooters Association (FCSA) board. I have never shot one, seen them at shoots in williamsport PA and ranton NM and talked to the owners but they are in a different class than me.Looks like a well built gun for a military arm. Not really pleasing to the eye in my opinion, looks like a plumber built it. The brake isn't that efficient, so the recoil is a little stiffer than say a barrett 95. But they shoot well.

If its in South Africa you shouldn't have an issue. I have purchased multiple weapons in South Africa and either had them shipped of brought them back with me when traveling back to the states. You may need to pay import Duty but that's a small price to pay for a weapon that is in in such limited numbers in the US.
