Hey everyone, I am new here. I am originally from Idaho, but have been in Texas for almost 5 years now. I have dabbled in long range shooting before, but it has been almost a decade. I just got a Savage model 10 in 6.5 creedmoor. I don't have a scope yet, not 100% sure what I'm looking for there yet. But for right now it looks like the farthest I can go locally is about 200yds. I need to either find a rancher who would be willing to let me shit on their land or travel to a range that does further. But anyways before I ramble too much, my name is Dustin and I'm hoping to find a lot of good info here.

Where in Idaho? I'm in the Treasure Valley area. Travel to Texas a lot for work (offshore drilling) and currently in Dallas for some training.

I have seen a ton of nice deer down here. But after living in Idaho i can't bring myself to pay these prices to go hunting, that can wait till I move back haha. But what I really need is to find somewhere I can do some long range shooting. Locally 200 is the farthest, and up by San Antonio it seems like everything is real expensive.
Since its a private range, would I have to know someone to be able to go there?
