Help identify upper please

I got this upper from a friend to sell but I do not know what brand it is or what it is worth.
There are no markings or names on it that my old ass eyes can find.
I was told it was an Armalite???
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Can you take the forearm off? If so, you should (might) have some markings on the barrel.
