HELP IDENTIFYING AN OLD CAR

A friend was going through some old photos.

Story is, his uncle bought this as a secondhand beater for ~ $400 during college, or something like that.

This was in 1971.

Any idea of the make / model?

It says “Rambler” right in the grille. That might be a clue.

Looks to be about a 66 AMC Rambler
Coupe.

They were not too bad to work on ....good 258 6 banger / torqueflite trans /ford style starter system /dependable charging system [prestolite?] . Rear axle flange could be stubborn .

Yep, my aunt had one of those, lime green with a white top. I recognized it right away.

When I was a real little we had a 59 Edsel. Old man bought it for like $250. Frickin car was pink. My mom hated it!
