Going to be scope my K31 milsurp and because the scope mount it was advised to get an IOR. Will shoot 600 yards plus.. Looking at 10x42 or 16x42.. any suggestions on to which one. Both within my budget. Thanks
The k31 mount has to have a small bell on it because of the rear sight interfering and also because the rifle ejects upward. The IOR has has been recommended by several on Swiss rifle sights. Usually 44 size is the max or you have to get higher rings which messes up your cheekweld and makes it uncomfortable to shoot. Budget is about 800. Hope that answers your questions and I appreciate your input.

You could get a 6x, 10x or 16x IOR, they make them all with the MP8 reticle. Super Sniper HD might be an option too but you'd have to call SWFA to get an exact measurement.
For all things k31 related go here... www.swissproductsllc.com Yes, both the k31 and the zfk55 will go to 1,000 yards. All Swiss Rifles from the 96/11, 1911, k11, k31, zfk55 and the PE57 Semi-Auto use the same cartridge and projectile. The Berger 175 VLD is the closest match in profile to the issue GP11 cartridge, but most shooters use the Sierra Matchking 175s. Ballistics are side by side with the full charge .308, and with the right load, somewhat better.
Forgot to add that the IOR fits over the rear sight the same on both rifles, with the k31 having an off-set as with the Garand M1D Sniper
