Without going into specifics I stuck my head up my ass and now my EREK is out of center. I went to the US Optics web sight, downloaded the centering your erek video, and watched it.

What borescope do I need to get to do the 'ol swivel thing like he did in the vid? also now that I have to loosen up my scope rings what is their torque?

I'm going to go bang my head against a wall now.....

Re: Help... just fucked myself.

I thought you could mess with the elevation all you want but screwing with the windage AND elevation would get you erector out of center. Could be wrong, just started fiddling with mine yesterday and thought I figured it out. If I'm wrong then mine is out of whack too.

Re: Help... just fucked myself.

+1 on the 15 inch pounds for the ring caps. Basically finger tight with a screw driver.

Don't take this the wrong way 18E but have you looked at the directions that came with your USO? I'm looking at mine and one of the sets is titled: Instructions for Telescopic Sight Erector Centering" and another is : EREK Knob Instructions.

If you can dig them up they can probably help you out. If you want me to scan mine and PM them to you let me know.

+1

That works

Re: Help... just fucked myself.

I take out the bolt, put the rifle on a bench and look down the barrel at a target. Then I adjust the scope to be on target. It may be primitive, but it has worked for me. That will get you on paper and you can go adjust at a range.

Cool trick... does that work without a lit reticle?

Re: Help... just fucked myself.

Seems to me.... If you just loosen-up the rings and keep the rifle stable, you could accomplish the same thing, with any sort of grid pattern taped to a wall....?

As long as you aren't in a dark room.

I thought the same thing. I taped up a grid type target on the wall on one end of my yard and put my rifle in a retard rigged cleaning rest and got it close, but it was hard to tell because it wasn't a very stable platform. I'm gonna need to go get a caldwell rest.

I also noticed that when gap put my scope on they used pretty low rings so I don't have the range of movement that JW does on his video.
