I can't decide between a Mueller 8-32 or a Super Sniper 16x42. I have a Super Sniper 10x42 HD and love it. And a Muller 4x14 APT that I like as well.

I will be putting it on a KIDD 10/22 to shoot paper from a bench and prone at 50-150yds.

Help, brain hurts!

Re: Help me decide.

Cookie - that's a tough one. Imho the SS is definitely better glass and more robust. But, clearly, the flexibility of an 8-32 is really attractive. Some people are a bit too ready to bash Mueller - I think they are a good company that provides value at the price point they have. There are very good stories about their CS, as well as a few spotty moments - but all in all I think they have a good record.

So, in the end, we are comparing a better scope (the SS) with a more flexible one (Mueller). When I advise my friends I always steer them towards the better glass - but if it was me... hmmm. I am not sure either:) I think the rational choice would be the SS. I am not sure I am bringing any value to this thread:)

At 16x they're both dark. There's no flexibility in a low-price high-magnification variable scope: they are tourist traps, marketed to people who buy based on power band alone.

Any suggestions to the OP?

Re: Help me decide.

I love the SS16X. I haven't found them too dark.
A little limited on the FOV, but I like to to get on target both eyes open then transition focus to scope eye-helps with NPA too.
