It would help if we could read what was on the side to better help you.

The bottom half appears to be a STI 2011 Hi Cap lower receiver. Shoot them an email with the pic and see if they can id the slide.

You won't find them stateside...company is based out of Buenos Aires, Argentina.
It is most likely based off of an STI/SVI Unique Slide mated to a 2011 frame though if that helps you.

Thanks Ord! I have no idea where I found the original pic since it was quite a while ago. I've been looking for some time now for where I found the original. I really like the style of it and want something similar for a 1911. What are most peoples thoughts on the 2011's?

I love all things 2011!!! I have been running different variations of STI/SVI framed pistols for years. There are factory offerings available direct from STI here:

There are too many custom shops working with the 2011 frame to mention, but you can get everything from mild to WIIIILLLLLDDDD done that you can imagine. Here are just a few custom shops I have had experience with over the years:

The primary and most obvious difference is the capacity of each, with the 2011 being a high-cap, double-stack frame and the 1911 being a single-stack frame. I'm not a big Glock guy by any means so I may not be the best person to answer that question, but comparing a 2011 to a full-frame model like the 21, I would rank them as comparable in terms of the width/girth of the pistol. However, the geometry of the 2011 grip is much different than the Glock and therefore, it will likely "feel" a little bigger than the Glock to most people.
The best advice I can give you is to get on STI's site and pull up a list of stocking dealers in MN. Find one that is within a reasonable distance to you and take a drive down to handle one in person. They certainly aren't for everyone, but personally, I really like the feel of the 2011 pistols I own.

They shoot very well. Tagle has won numerous awards for the quality of his work and has competed at the international level for many years. All of his work is high speed, low drag!
