Ok guys, I sold my leupold vx-3 long range 6.5-20x50 and looking for an upgrade. I've had little experience with higher end optics so I hope your input can help.

Budget is 1200

I've considered vortex, swfa, used nightforce, and leupold mark 4.

What would you do? Thanks

It depends on your preferences for features, your rifle and the type of shooting you do. But, if I were to take a blind stab at it, I would go with the Bushnell HDMR.

I believe the non illuminated SWFA would fit the bill too. Agreed the HDMR and SWFA's are the only two significant upgrades. However, they are much heavier too. I have/had all three scopes in question so I know.

Another strong contender in the $1200 range is the SWFA SS 5-20x50 HD. I haven't compared them side by side, but am guessing it would slightly edge out the Bushy in clarity. It also has 10 Mils per turn...which is very nice. The Bushy is a great option too.

SWFA SS HD 5-20x50 Tactical 30mm Riflescope

A scope to keep an eye out for that I'm predicting sells and performs great is the new Sightron SIII FFP:
Sightron Riflescopes SIII Series SIIISS624X50LRFFPMH Not sure if they're available yet, but if they're any thing like their SFP brother, they will rock!

on edit; CanPopper beat me to it!
