...the chambering of my new build. It's a slow collection of parts to complete the build, but it's gonna be a bighorn action in an A5. Surgeon bottom metal and a barrel lighter than m24. Probably a light Palma or Remington varmint. Anyway, I already have a 243 for kinda a do all rifle. Not slinging heavies, hell I'm not even sure of the twist on it. I also have a 6.5x47 on a savage target action. Heavy long rifle and a single shot. I'm planning on this rifle to be used for steel/paper and hopefully start shooting some practical comps. Maybe the occasional hunt. Im almost certain that I'm gonna make it a second 6.5x47 since I love the cartridge. My question to you guys is, since I already have the 47 and the 243, is there another chambering I should look at that may expand my horizons a bit? Let's face it, once you have a 6mm or a 6.5mm it's hard to top them. I considered the 6.5 4s but the brass and die situation makes me loose a little interest. I have a 260 tac match reamer and my Lapua reamer, so I could go that way easily. Has to be a short action chambering and feed from AICS/AW mags. Maybe a fast twist 243? Another Lapua? What do you think?
