Oh the gun bug has got me again. Got a very nice trade and ended up with an almost NIB Beretta A1. Took it to the range, shot it and liked it so imma keep it. The being said, I was considering the metal trigger, and the competition hammer. What else if anything would you beretta guys suggest that I do to get it done right?

Re: Help on Beretta A1

Replace the mainspring with a 23lb 1911 mainspring. Instant trigger job that is significantly better than just the 92D spring.

Also look into the Mec-Gar 18rd mags. For the money, they're a great value for the extra capacity and a much better finish than the regular factory mags... and in case you were curious Mec-Gar makes the factory mags.

If you want to swap the grips, there are some nice G10s available.

Why do you want to do something about the guide rod spring? I wouldn't be too concerned with replacing the trigger, unless you just can't help but tinker with it.

Re: Help on Beretta A1

well, I had an older 92 fs and the metal trigger on it was nice the A1 has this odd feeling composite trigger (plastic over metal). It also has a captive recoil spring on the guide rod.... nice, but replacing it means a whole new guide rod assembly, and thats 55 bucks or so. Heard there were aftermarket parts that replaced the rod with a removable frons, so all you had to do was unscrew, and switch the springs.
