    Hello everyone,

So I've painted my chassis. Everything seemed pretty simple and straightforward. I want to paint my BA but just want to make sure there isn't anything I'm missing. For those curious, it's a Howa 1500. It will be a temp krylon paint job.

It should be as straight forward as you assume. Just make sure to remove your bolt, tape off all the openings into the action (ejection port, magwell, action screw holes, scope base holes, etc... I hate having any paint inside my action) if you can remove the trigger do that as well, and tape off your muzzle so no paint gets in the barrel, make sure not to get any in the chamber area either. Thats about it!

No problem. Also, i guess it would be best to just tape off the entire scope base area to keep the contact area between mount and action bare. Or just paint it with the rail on there. Im not sure what your set-up is. And for the action screw area/ bottom, you dont really have to paint the bottom at all since nobody will see it once its in the stock. If you dont paint the bottom, just make it easy and tape up the whole bottom area including the recoil lug and keep it bare so that it interfaces with the stock without any paint in the way.
Post up a picture or two when youre done!

I'm planning on keeping the scope base on there but removing rings/scope. Good idea on not painting the bottom part of my action. Had not thought it all the way through. This is how she looks now, not just want to kinda camo the whole rifle altogether since I do take it out into the field for hunting.

Don't know exactly when I'll start to paint it, but I'll post pics once it's done...
