I have a M496-D that I have fired 2-300 rounds thru. and it now will not release from the quick detach mount. I have soaked in rem oil and wd, and I can now get it to move a tiny bit. Does anyone here know of a good carbon cutter or such?

IME, good old fashioned Liquid Wrench does wonders. Let it soak in for at least 30 minutes.

For easier release:

1. Add a few dozen sharp raps, preferably with metal (or hit harder with hard bouncy plastics like good screwdriver handles), from different directions and on both "halves" of what you want separated;

and

2. If it gets really serious, add some light propane torch flame. Stop when the oils start to smoke, whack it some more, and work it off.

Works for quick-release parts just like it does for rusty threads.
