I finally got rid of my old upper that weighed like 6 lbs by its self, looking to make something a little lighter this go around, use would be the go to gun for bumps in the night and a class every now and then.

What Im looking at:

BCM 14.5" (or 16") middy or RRA elite tactical A4 middy
BCM gunfighter handle
Troy TRX battle rail (dont want rails where they arent needed)
possibly a noveske switchback for shooting with a can

Questions
Can a tube type handguard be used with a standard front site
BCM or RRA
Noveske's site says something about gas blocks with screws are now as good as pins, any info?

The other option i have is an Adams Arms upper Mid tactical elite piston upper, anyone have any experience with these?

Not doggin BCM's products but if you are already looking into John's products at Noveske you should seriously check into his 14.5 or 16" uppers. If you are able to do a SBR then give serious consideration to his 12.5" Afghan upper. This bad boy will shoot hole for hole with most 18"spr's. Their 12.5" stainless barrels border on voodoo accuracy. Money well spent!
